We left Dave's house at 8am and headed for the NASA Johnson Space center after a quick stop at Denny's. I so desperately wanted an "over easy" and hashbrowns 
. At the Denny's was free WIFI, so we could order our tickets online, and with that saved 20$. We could also make plans with Alan for the evening.
What I never could anticipate - neither did Dave - was that so many stores and restaurants would be closed for Easter.
We stopped at 2 different places for breakfast and finally chose one serving breakfast taco's before going to Lakewood church. A church being as big as a footballstadium. And since they had full house, there were 12000 people present. Waaw... The service here was very dynamic. Topics out of the bible were elaborated and between those, music thrilled the people present.
We had a luxurious breakfast at the pool this morning and really enjoyed this Saturday brunch. Our rental car was due to be picked up by 11am, but we only left the house at 12am. When we arrived at the rental car office, we found it to be closed. The opening hours were from 9am till noon. We called Avis, but on the phone they were not willing to help us any further at all. Even though Avis's motto is 'we try harder'.
Friday was a day of exquisite food and ancient history.
We paid a visit to the Farmers market and got enough fruitsamples to survive the day. Every merchant gave us a little piece of orange, pineapple, pear, blueberry, tomato, ... essentially whatever we wanted. And after the 15th stand, that provided a healthy 'lunch'. I'm sure if you get there earlier in the day, there will be more stands. We arrived there by noon, and half of the hall was already empty.
The day started early. 5:30 am and I was wide awake. One of the more 'do nothing and enjoy the day' type of days was going to begin. By 9:30 my friend got a phone that her suitcase had arrived in Richardson, but ours was still missing. Lucky for us, it was possible to go collect her thing ourselves. We had absolutely no desire to wait at the house 'between 11 and midnight'.
We knew it would be a tight thing, but since they sold it, we never really understood what the risks would be. In Brussels our plane had a delay of 5 minutes. Not huge, but appearently enough for our luggage to not make it on the flight going from Amsterdam to Dallas.
So in Dallas we spent 30 minutes queuing to claim our luggage - as did 25 other people.
If we are lucky, the suitcases will arrive somewhere the day after - today.
Mijn ridder spendeert heel wat tijd per dag aan het doorzoeken van kapaza, ebay, ibood, tweedehands, de lidl-, makro en andere nieuwsbrieven op zoek naar.. dingen.
Dingen die hij niet nodig heeft, dingen waarvan hij het bestaan niet weet, dingen waarmee hij rustig zonder kan leven.
En uiteraard komt hij dan vaak zaken tegen die er leuk uitzien, of waarvan hij denkt, 'maar dat heb ik nu nodig sie'.
Nu al al zoveel knuffels gemaakt heb met een amigurumi-patroontje, begin ik ook stilletjesaan te bedenken hoe ik die kan verkopen/verruilen/op een manier iets nuttig mee doen.
Want 15 draakjes in allerlei verschillende kleuren is allemaal goed en wel, ze stof laten vangen daar heeft niemand iets aan.
Ik had eventjes gedacht om ze in een winkeltje in de buurt te kunnen verkopen, maar dat gaat jammer genoeg niet door.
2 jaar geleden, op 17 maart 2008, spraken Koen, Tom en Tom via twitter af om te gaan lunchen in de Quick Van Berchem. Ze verzonnen al grappend de naam 'Twunch'.
Vorig jaar vierden we de eenjarige verjaardag van het Twunchconcept op het terras in het zonnetje van die zelfde Quick in Berchem.
Vandaag, voor de 2 jarige verjaardag, doen ze/we dat opnieuw.
Ook jij kan nog altijd komen, het is zeker geen besloten gezelschap
De mensen van Enchanté vroegen mij of ik wilde deelnemen aan een nieuwe actie van Truvo "Mee naar Lissabon". Ik kreeg een budget om 2 keer in een restaurantje te gaan eten en in ruil zouden we onze mening geven over allerlei restaurants, winkels en bedrijven in België. Nu weet je al langer dan vandaag dat dat het liefste is dat we doen: onze mening geven. En dan zouden we er nu voor betaald worden ook? Echt lang hebben we daar niet over moeten nadenken.
